Rich playboy from the wealthy part of Zealand attending university to become an (in)famous politician like his father, though he hates the field of political science and would have preferred to study history. Spends his vacation each summer with his parents at the French Riviera, mostly Marseille where this year, he meets Claude Moulin, a poor university student working at the local café to earn money for his studies (literature) and rent, seeing as he was kicked out by his mother for being openly gay. The two start a passionate, secret affair while Frederik is in France, with no promises spoken of what's going to happen after. And what happens after is that Claude never hears from Frederik again, while Frederik spends the rest of his life thinking about the other man. About what could have been, if summer had been allowed to become fall.
